 EasyCall

One of the original callcenters in the Philippines, EasyCall has both international and domestic clients pleased with its service.  With a predictive dialer, redundant E1 with multi route connection, and well trained college graduate agents, this outsource bureau can handle loads of inbound and outbound calls for telemarketing, customer service, and other teleservices. Easycall has  hundreds of operators working 24/7 , and capacity for even more. EasyCall can be your contact center if you need to outsource customer support services, telemarketing, or BPO services. Customer relationship management (CRM) is a specialty. You can find out more about call centers in the Philippines, by going to the EasyCall website, by email, or by calling  Jon Cervantes, VP Sales and Marketing at 63-2-533-8001 local 6400.

The call center sponsored the TLYC August Hobie Regatta, and supplied great giveaways. EasyCall 5 hour prepaid internet cards were the favorite, followed by EasyCall hats, EasyCall pen holders, and other corporate giveaways.

10 teams joined the EasyCall regatta. Light winds prevailed on Taal Lake, although the previous day, (and the next day) were a nice 8-10 kts all day. Nonetheless,  "that's sailboat racing"!  We only had 3 races, the last being a real drifter, but the sailors took it well, and it was exciting neck and neck racing, all the way!
After having postponed the start of the third race twice, The RC figured "what the hell, we'll just do the first leg."   What followed on shore, unbeknownst to the competitors, was a complete comedy.

The Race Committee ran to the RC/Rescue boat, right after the start. Only to find that the boat wouldn't start! The wind was so light, that the Race Committee actually got the single scull out, and  figured they'd beat the competitors to the first mark by rowing!! Then the engine finally started, and  the rowing plan was abandoned. The RC boat and raced to the first mark, but it was too late. Luigi was about to round the mark, so The RC decided to finish the race at the second mark instead.

Already leading by about a boat length, Luigi broke on ahead. The Bulaongs and Art and Charlie, were battling it out for second and third, Mark and Ramon of TLYC, along with Eric Tomacruz were bumper to bumper. But then came a surprise. Diether Ocampo and Nestor Soriano used their inside overlap to maximum benefit. From 6th place they moved into second place in a tactical shocker! From then on, they never looked back.

The rest of the fleet just died. Dead, Dead, Dead. Ramon Dala, and Guen Cerilles edged out David Levinge and Elle Singson in the last race, but in the total combined score for the series, David and Elle took third.

Though they didn't quite make it into the Magic Circle, a bit of attention should be brought to The new team combination of Mark Haswell and Liesl Samson. Liesl is new to sailing, but with Mark as a coach, she should do really well. The week after this EasyCall regatta, the team went up to Hong Kong to compete in the Aberdeen Boat Club Opening Regatta, and did moderately well.  Hopefully we will see them as a team again in the coming events, including the "Round Taal Volcano" event in November, and the Hobie 16 National Championship in January.

Thanks again to EasyCall for being a great sponsor. The Prepaid internet cards are being put to good use!!

As I write this, I'm getting feedback, from the raffle winners, that the cards are pretty fast. Some people have recorded figures as high as 44KBPS with a 56K modem on a standard PLDT line. That's really good in my book.
