Organizing Authority
The
Championships are organized by the Philippine Hobie Challenge Foundation
(PHCF).
1 Rules
1.1 The
Event will be governed by the Rules as defined in The Racing Rules of
Sailing.
1.2 The
current International Hobie Class Association Class Rules will apply, except as
defined in the prescriptions of Fleet

1.3 The
prescriptions of the Philippine Sailing Association will not apply
2 Advertising
2.1 The
Event is designated as a Category C event in accordance with RRS Rule 79,
Advertising and Event Categories and
RRS Appendix I.
2.2 Boats
wishing to carry sponsors names or logos on sails, and/or hulls should seek
approval from the Organizing
Committee in order to prevent conflicts with Event Sponsors.
2.3 The
Organizing Committee may require all boats and / or crew to display the Event
Sponsors advertising on their boats
and/or sails.
3 Entry and Eligibility
3.1 The
Event is open to the following classes:
National
Championship - Both helm and crew must be Philippine citizens
Open
Championship - This class is open to all nationalities.
Masters
Championship - Open to all nationalities with helm over 45 years old.
Women’s Championship – Open
to all nationalities, both helm & crew must be female.
3.2 All
Classes will race together. Separate and joint results will be calculated for
each class.
3.3 To
enter fax or email a completed entry form to The Regatta Secretariat, before 22
January 2007.
3.4 All
crews are required to present themselves together to be weighed, in condition
to weights specified in the IHCA Class
Rules.
3.5 Failure
to complete all the registration requirements by 0930 hrs on the first race day
will give the organizer the option to invalidate the
entry.
4 Entry Fees
4.1 The
Entry Fee is P 4,000 per boat for the first entered, and P500 for each
additional class entered.
4.2 The
entry fee will cover:
Transport for 1 hobie 16 from
TLYC to Terazas and back,
Dis-assembly & assembly
at TLYC, Assembly & dis-assembly at Terazas
Official Rashguard (2 pcs)
Dinner Party for 2 on
Saturday night,
assorted
local drinks for 2 at the Saturday night party,
Sunday Awards lunch/merienda
for 2,
and
a Sunday afternoon raffle ticket.
4.3 All
entry fees are to be paid at Registration.
5 Competitors Briefing
The Competitors Briefing will take
place at 0900 hrs on each race day on the beach at Terrazas de Punta Fuego.
6 Programme of Events
6.1 The Championships will consist of 10 races. In
the event of circumstances not permitting the
completion of 10 races, the event will be
regarded as complete regardless of how many races have been started by
1500 on Sunday 28 January.

7 Courses to be Sailed
7.1 Courses
to be sailed will be Triangular and Windward / Leeward Courses.
7.2 Races
will be started in accordance with RRS 26.
8 Sailing Instructions
8.1 The
Sailing Instructions will be available at Registration
8.2 The
Sailing Instructions will also be available before the event at
www.philhobie.com
9 Scoring System
9.1 The
low-point scoring system as per RRS Appendix A will be used.
9.2 To
calculate the positions in a class, points will be awarded in accordance with
the finishing position within the
Class and not the finishing position in the whole fleet.
9.3 All
races will count towards a boat's Championship score.
10 Protest Committee
A Protest Committee will be appointed.
11 Prizes
11.1 Trophies/Prizes
will be awarded to:
the first 3 boats in each class with more than 6 entries
the first boat in
each class with more than 1 entry
11.2 Other
prizes may be awarded for at the discretion of the Organizing Committee.
12 Disclaimer
Competitors
participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, Decision to
Race. The
Organizing Authority will not accept any liability for material damage or
personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or
prior to, during or after the regatta.
