Organizing Authority 

 The event is organized by Taal Lake Yacht Club. 

 1 Rules 

 1.1 The event will be governed by the Rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. 

 1.2 The current International Hobie Class Association Class Rules will apply,  except as exceptions have been made by fleet 274 at Www.tlyc.com/hobie/prescriptions.html

 1.3 The prescriptions of the Philippine Sailing Association will not apply 

2 Advertising 

 2.1 The Event is designated as  Category C event in accordance with RRS Rule 79,     Advertising and Event Categories and RRS Appendix I. 

 2.2 Boats wishing to carry sponsors names or logos on sails, and/or hulls should seek    approval from the organizing committee in order to prevent conflicts with Event     Sponsors. 

 2.3 The Organizing Committee may require all boats and / or crew to display the Event    Sponsors advertising on their boats and/or sails. 

3 Eligibility  and Entry

 3.1 The Event is open to the following classes: 

  National Championship - Both helm and crew must be Philippine citizens 

  Open Championship - This class is open to all nationalities, and mixed crews

  Masters Championship - Open to all nationalities that comply with IHCA Class Rules for the Masters Class.

  Novice Championship. Open to teams that the organizing authority designate.

  
3.2
All Classes will race together. Separate and joint results will be calculated for each class. 

 3.3 To enter fax or e-mail a completed pre-entry form to The Regatta Secretariat, before Feb 8, 2008, or fill up the form at registration. 

 3.4 All crews are required to present themselves together to be weighed, as required in the IHCA  Class Rules. 

 3.5 Failure to complete all the registration requirements by 0900 hrs on the first race day may invalidate the entry. 

4 Classification

5 Entry Fees 

 5.1 The Entry Fee is P 3500 per boat for the first class entered, and P500, for each additional class entered. There will be a P500 discount for those who fill out the form below, and we recieve it before Feb 8 2008.

 5.2 The entry fee will cover:

- the cost of the team's entry
- two pack lunches on Saturday
-
2  meals at the Saturday dinner
-assorted local drinks for 2 at the Saturday night party
- 2 Sunday breakfasts
-
2 Sunday trophy presentation buffet lunches
-

 5.3 All entry fees are to be paid at Registration. 

6 Competitors Briefing  

 The Competitors Briefing will take place at 0930 hrs on the first race day at Taal Lake  Yacht Club, if necessary, a second briefing will be at 0830 onSaturday.

6a Programme of Events  

 The Championships will consist of 10 races. The event will be regarded as complete regardless of how many races have been started by 2pm on Sunday, Feb 10, 2008. with the exception of the Philippine National championship. The National

   Early registration may be available on Friday night.

0930hrs  Competitor's Briefing

   1000 hrs  First Warning Signal

   Races will be completed back to back with a break for lunch and will resume 1 hr        later, and will continue till 6 races have been sailed or the last start time limit.
             1630: No Warning Signal after

   Sunday February 10

hrs  Competitor's Briefing 
   0900 hrs:  First Warning Signal

   1400 hrs:  No Warning Signal After 

   
30 mins after last finish: Late Lunch and Awards Presentation 

 7 Courses to be Sailed 

 7.1 Courses to be sailed will be Triangular and Windward Leeward Courses. 

 7.2 Races will be started in accordance with RRS 26. 

 8 Sailing Instructions 

 8.1 The Sailing Instructions will be published several days before the event  at www.tlyc.com/hobie/honat08sis.html 

 8.2 The Sailing Instructions will also be available at Registration. 

 9 Scoring System 

 9.1 The low-point scoring system as per RRS Appendix A will be used. 

 9.2 To calculate the positions in a class, points will be awarded in accordance with the    finishing position within the Class and not the finishing position in the whole fleet. 

 9.3 If a minimum of 6 races have been completed, one drop is allowed.

10 Protest Committee 

 10.1 A Protest Committee will be appointed. 

 11 Prizes 

 11.1 Prizes will be awarded to BOTH skipper and crew of:

 the first 3 boats in each class with more than 4 entries

 the first  boat in each class with at least 3 entries  

  11.2 Other prizes may be awarded for at the discretion of the Organizing Committee. 

 12 Disclaimer 

 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, Decision to Race.  The Organizing Authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or  death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.
