FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
|
Q: Do you Allow Non-Members?
A: Non-members
and guests are charged a P 100.00 entrance fee
per person. We have to allow non-members because we want to teach
people to sail, and you can't become a member, unless you already know how
to sail.
Also, we do a brisk business sending non members on tours to the volcano.
That income keeps the club alive. We have to let them in! :-)
Q: Do you allow dogs?
We have to recommend this book, because its saved so many of our Dog's lives.
|
A: YES!!!
We are one of very few resorts/clubs that allow dogs. But we only allow well
behaved, well trained ones. If they are unruly, noisy,
if they growl, even at other dogs, or if their owners don't take care
of them, they're out. We are the final judge.
We allow a lot of dogs that have no formal training. On the other hand,
we have rejected dogs that have passed the CDX rank. It just depends on the
dog. Does your dog bark at the neighbors kids? If the answer is "yes", don't
bring him. We have lots of kids, and we don't want them to be afraid of dogs.
We do have some dogs that have adopted us, and we just dont have the heart
to kick them out. Then we also feed the Jack Russels, and the
Duchunds. ... and dont get me started on the cats. we have quite a
few of those too. |
Q: How about Jetskis and Powerboats?
A: TLYC does not
allow, except under very special arrangement, Jetskis, Powerboats, or other
engine driven boats to be launched within the club premises. Space and noise
are the major considerations. Basically, aside from you pying
storage, we use the boats occasionally for rescue. This is actually good,
if you dont use your boat that much. because the engine needs to be run occasionally.
Q: Are food and drinks available
in the club? Can food be brought in?
A: "Our servce
is always prompt, No matter how long it takes!" Order an hour before you expect
to get hungry.
If you want the delicacy of the house, cleaned fried Tawilis (its a resh
water sardine found ONLY in Taal Lake) order a day in advance.
Entry of food is allowed. You can bring
a grill, or rent one with charcoal. We find that some people want to sail,
while others enjoy being in charge on shore, and that usually means taking
care of the food. Its all part of the family atmosphere that we promote.
Q: Do you allow Camping?
A: Camping is
not only allowed, it is encouraged. We want people to appreciate the environment,
and there aren't many more pleasurable experiences than lying out on the
grass watching the stars at TLYC. Large private open huts may
also be rented by the campers and they can set up their tents on the open
space in front of the hut. Maximum stay is 5 days.
Q: Do you offer Boat Rentals?
A: If you are
not ready to invest in a boat, or find it better to rent, TLYC offers boat
rentals. Click Here for rates
Q: I don't know how
to sail! Do you offer lessons?
A: Yes,
there is a section below that gives more details. To find out about pricing
for sailing classes at TLYC Click Here.
Q: Do you sell learn to sail books?
A: Yes, we we do. You can buy them from
the TLYC store. National, and Powerbooks also have books.
Q: How about Trips to the Volcano?
A: Trips to the
Volcano are available at standard rates (which other resorts set). TLYC personel
can arrange the banca for your trip. It is recommended that you take a guide
if you've never gone before. check out www.tlyc.com/volctrip.html
Q: Do you accept large groups, Corporate
outings, Teambuilding, Birthdays, Weddings, exclusive use?
A: Yes. The size
we like is 50, because it will not cause problems with our regular operatons, and
we dont have much extra that we need to do. Having said that, we CAN handle
groups up to 200 for weddings, and under very specil arrangements.
Exclusive use of the club facilities can be arranged under certain conditions.
We do teambuildng on our own, but we prefer that you have your own teambuilding
facilitator.
