Note:
This page may be outdated as far as pricing, but generally you can use
it as a guide as to the general cost, and what facilities are avaiable.
TLYC Membership rates
Membership/joining fee
TLYC does not charge a “One time Membership Fee” or any initial
entry fee for members Yet. We only charge dues. However,
this policy will not last forever. We envisage that at around 100
members,
we will have to charge a P50,000 "one time fee". When that time comes,
those who joined before the fee came into effect, will be exempted from
paying the fee.
Monthly Charges
Dues are so minimal that they are payable in advance annualy. Dues
and fees increase periodically. Membership is by application, and we
resrve
the right to refuse membeship to anybody. Membership is a privelage,
and
we reserve the right to not renew a membership, or to terminate it, for
any reason. To be a member of TLYC you MUST know how to sail. We do
have courses and
instructors
who can teach you, even though you are not yet a member.
Guest limit: There is no limit on immediate family, but We
have to charge
for other non-member guests over a total party of 4. This limit is set
because we allow food to be brought in, unlike all the other clubs that
strictly enforce a "no bringing in food" policy.
Types of Membership offered
Regular Membership
Membership is only available for those who know how to sail.
This allows unlimited entry to the member and his/her household, or
the member and up to three guests.
Camping is free.
A membership card will be issued.
The monthly rate is $10 or peso equivalent (minimum P500)
Regular membership with Huts (Prefered
membership)
Membership is only available for those who know how to sail.
In addition to the regular membership fee, $10 per month (minimum P500) can be added,
and this entitles the member to use the huts at any time, and gives the
member priority over non-members, who are paying per use.
A Membership Card will be issued.
This type of membership is only available on an annual basis.
Monthly Rate: Regular dues+ cost of one hut per month
Rowing Membership
Rowing membership is available for those who row or Kayak, but don't
sail. Pricing is the same as regular membership. And a preferred plan
is
also available.
.org/ corporate membership
If 10 regular or rowing members sign up as a group, pay dues as a lump
sum in one check, are all connected to / employed by/ enrolled in an
organization/school
that is not solely, or primarily, formed to avail of the group
membership
plan, Then this type of membership applies.
Dues are the same as for regular members, and membership status is
also credited to an individual. Benefits are the same as those for an
individual.
The difference is that for every 10 members that sign up, the group is
entitled to one free hut. If 20 signups, 2 free huts, and so on.
Absentee Membership
If a member is going to be living abroad, or “out of town”, he/she
may choose Absentee Membership. In case the member comes to the
club,
he may use the facilities till the end of that month.
A membership card will be issued.
Rate: US$ 10 per year (minimum P500) plus $5 postage and handling
Individual Entry
Tlyc does allow limited individual entry. This is in line with our
desire to promote the sport to a broad base of potential members.
Entry fee is P100 per adult per visit as of
this
writing. There are special rates for children.

Lifevests
· Boat Rentals include two life jackets
per
H16. One trapeze harness is included if available. Other boats
include
1 vest only. Wearing a lifevest is Mandatory on rental boats.
Important
· It is the prerogative of the TLYC to
decide
not to rent to anyone particularly if skill level is questionable,
and/or
if wind is strong. You may be required to take an exam and /or leave a
rental deposit.
You are responsible for anything that breaks. You are responsible for
your
own safety. We do have rescue boats, but we cannot guarantee an
immediate
rescue because we don't know if you need one, and the boat might also
be
in use. You are responsible to check the boat before it goes out.
If you don't think the boat can handle the conditions, don't rent it.
Booklets on sailing
· We do have a very inexpensive booklet
on sailing Hobies. If you are not an experienced catamaran sailor, buy
it. And read it BEFORE you go out. Make sure you can right a capsized
boat
unless you want to be rescued. It takes 265 lbs in the right place,
using
the right technique to right a 16. It takes about 165 to right the
Wave.
Technique is the key ingredient.
Rescues
· Generally, if a
boat has
capsized or appears to be in need of assistance for 15 minutes or
so,
we will send a rescue boat out. TLYC does not guarantee that a
rescue
boat will be available. So don’t count on it! You will only
be charged for the rescue if you accept the assistance, so sometimes it
takes a while for the boat to go out.
· IF you go out, remember you are on
your own.
You accept responsibility for everything. Being dependent on yourself
alone,
and making the proper preparations before you go out are an important
part
of what sailing is all about.
· Do not take rental boats further than
where
we can see the boats on shore clearly unless you are very sure of
yourself.
Under no circumstance should you go further than the islands. If you
get
into trouble we can't rescue you because we can't see you. If you can't
clearly discern individual boat hulls on the beach, you are too far out
for a rescue. We can't rescue you if we can't see you.
Damage policy
· The general policy on rental damage
is:
You break a part, you pay for a new one. We have a catalog of
parts
complete with pricing for your perusal. Inspect the boat before
you
go out. If the boat looks like it can only handle light winds, and it’s
a windy day, don’t take it out.
Other Rental Policies and charges
Boat rental ends at
5:30 PM.
If you aren’t
back by sunset, or you are very far out at 5:30, the boys may
decide
to go and get you, and you will be charged a rescue fee.
“Hourly rental” minutes are not
cumulative. ie you
cannot rent something for 20 minutes, return it for 30 minutes, use it
for 20 minutes, return it for 30 minutes, and rent it again for 20
minutes,
and then say 20+20+20= 1 hr.
Rental starts when you get on
the
boat. It does
not start when you say you want to rent. If you request that a
boat
be set up for your use, and then you don’t use it, you will only be
charged
20% of the daily rate. However, If someone else wants to
use
the boat, you will be informed so you can choose for your rental
to start, or be able to give up your rental at no charge.
Do not slam the boat into the beach.
You
risk a P500 fine.
Stop the boat in the water by turning it upwind, and walk it into the
beach.
TLYC
Private Facilities Rentals and policies.
At TLYC there are two types of
facilities. Common
and Private. The common areas are the restrooms, the children’s play
areas,
main parking, dirty kitchen/wash area and the main “Clubhouse/patio”
area
with red Vigan tile flooring. Any member or guest can use any of these
areas at any time.
There are “Private areas” which should be
respected
when occupied. These are exclusive for whoever has reserved them.
P400 /day big Private huts
P350/ day regular huts
P100/day campsite only (note: free for
Members)
Reservations can be made for these areas by
calling
in advance.
The huts w/campsite can accommodate a
maximum of 10
people each on weekends and holidays. Groups larger than that
should
occupy an additional hut. We cannot accommodate Weekend/holiday
non-sailing
groups larger than the limit for 2 huts except by very special
arrangement.
The wear on the grass and the surrounding area is too destructive, and
the noise level inside (and outside) the hut gets too great
otherwise.
We do not allow loud radios, karaoke, or any other loud instruments
that
will destroy the tranquillity of the adjoining huts. On
weekdays,
we allow up to 15 people per hut. Seven chairs are supplied with each
hut.
Campsites can handle up to 5 people
each.
We allow non-sailing corporate gatherings,
parties,
Movie productions etc. However, we can accommodate these groups
only
on Non-holiday weekdays. In this case, The whole club can be
rented
as an exclusive venue for P8000/day. We estimate that we can
accommodate
up to 100 people in this case, inclusive of all helpers and guests,
other
than our own staff. In this case there is no club
restriction
on sound systems etc. Catering is allowed in the main club
area.
A stage may be set up, and if necessary, an advance crew can be
accommodated.
Other rental
facilities/
services that are available are as follows:
