Yacht Insurance in the Philippines

If you are hunting for people who will insure your yacht in the Philippines, be it power or sail, you will find a shortage of agents because there are very few companies that will bother with this small market.
Yacht insurance is categorized as "difficult to deal with". Most insurance companies don't want to hassle with yacht insurance or private boat insurance, and they will only do it as a favor to existing clients. They have no idea of how to value a sailboat. If they have a Marine department, they will probably refer you to people who insure cargo tankers, airplanes, and merchant ships. This is their standard marine insurance department.
Insurance brokers will usually quote a very high rate, and you will be dealing with someone who has no idea what you need.

As a Yacht owner, you want to:

	Work with someone you know and trust, who understands what you want and need.
	Get excellent rates
	Answer only 6 simple, one line answer type questions and get a sample quote quickly.
	Have insurance that is underwritten by top international companies that will be solidly backed by Lloyds registry, and who will give you a policy that is a Yacht Policy, not a marine policy for commercial ships.
	Be able to deal with a local agent who can answer your local calls, come visit you when its convenient for you, be on call to see the problem if you have a complaint, sit down with you and give you advice on how you can lower your premium. All this on a local level. *You do not want to incurr long distance phone calls* at inconvenient hours *trying to call someone in a different time zone*. Or worse, be trying to call someone abroad who is trying to avoid talking to you about your claim.
